Manifesting the Mix: How DJ Simmy Spins Dreams into Reality

DJ Simmy isn’t just mixing tracks — she’s manifesting the life she once dreamed of. For the rising DJ and producer, success is as much about mindset as it is about music, driven by her belief in writing down goals and taking intentional steps to make them a reality. Her journey reflects the power of turning dreams into plans, with each set, collaboration, and Pinterest post a reflection of that purpose.

But beyond the music, Simmy is a sister, a friend, and a force of positivity, inspiring those around her to embrace the power of belief. Her story is one of passion, persistence, and the magic that happens when vision meets action.

She’s a dreamer, a girly girl with an eye for style, and someone who finds inspiration in the everyday. It’s this same sense of whimsy and wonder that fuels her artistry as a DJ and producer, where each track, setlist, and brand collaboration becomes a glimpse into the rhythm of her mind.

In 2020, Simmy discovered the power of manifestation — the practice of focusing on desires, visualizing them, and maintaining a positive mindset to attract what you want. One day, alone in her room, she grabbed a notebook and listed the brands she dreamed of working with. Among them were luxury labels like Coach and Burberry, as well as the multimedia powerhouse Lyrical Lemonade. Despite the uncertainty of the pandemic, she knew that with consistency and belief, her goals would come to life. Four years later, they did.

After countless sleepless nights spent Googling brand contacts, sending follow-up emails, and networking with anyone she could meet, Simmy began to see her manifestations materialize.

In June 2024, she hit a major milestone, performing a 15-minute DJ set in front of thousands at Lyrical Lemonade’s Summer Smash music festival. Just a few months later, in October, Coach invited her to DJ a collection launch in Chicago. Then, in December, she found herself behind the decks again — this time for Burberry.

“Manifestation is real. Please write down everything that you want and watch it come to you over time,” Simmy says.

Simmy’s longtime friend and fellow DJ, Finesse Fest, believes her drive to be multifaceted shines through not just in her music but in her other ventures — like her special food collaboration with Stussy’s Diner, in Chicago’s Bridgeport neighborhood.

“The Stussy collaboration was Simmy’s creative mind in human form. From the menu to the decorations, down to the colors. Everything was a reflection of what’s inside of her,” said Finesse.

Originally, Simmy was approached to star in a commercial for the diner. But she saw the brand’s fun, chic, ’70s vaporwave vibe as a perfect fit and wanted more than just an ad spot.

She proposed “The DJ Simmy Special” — patty melts, heart-shaped red velvet pancakes, and ice cream-topped funnel cake. For the entire month of February, fans from all over the city came to indulge in the limited-time special, created by one of Chicago’s hottest DJs.

“I’m big on collaborating with brands that align with my vision,” she said. “So when I got with Stussy, I thought, ‘this is perfect — this matches exactly the route I want to go in.’”

Simmy’s younger sister, Shanell, describes her as a “serial learner and perfectionist planner,” recalling the large whiteboard in her room where Simmy jots down every idea — from DJ sets to event concepts to future fashion looks.

“She has this huge whiteboard in her room with all of these things written on it — things that she wants to do, things that just pop up in her mind. That girl writes down everything, and seeing results from her hard work keeps her going.”

Looking ahead, Simmy dreams of DJing across the globe while finding new ways to invite people into her world through social media, events, and production. Her biggest goal? A beat placement with Drake — something she plans to manifest, too.

Simmy’s story is a powerful reminder that dreams don’t just happen — they’re built through intention, hard work, and belief. From writing down her goals to spinning at festivals and collaborating with global brands, every milestone reflects her ability to turn vision into action. Manifestation isn’t just a concept for Simmy; it’s the strategy that keeps her focused and ready when opportunity calls.

But behind the turntables and beyond the brand partnerships, her journey is about more than music — it’s about creating a life that blends passion, creativity, and purpose. As she puts it, “You can be the president, you can be an astronaut and a restaurant owner… you just gotta schedule it.”
