The Near Northwest Arts Council is putting on a “charette” workshop to discuss the proposed Bronzeville Artist Lofts work/live loft spaces with local artists and entrepreneurs.
Revere Properties Development has been selected by Mercy Portfolio Services for the redevelopment of the property at 436-42 East 47th Street, located across the street from the Harold Washington Cultural Center.
The discussion will take place at the city’s Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, located at 78 East Washington (5th floor), on Thursday, February 23 from 6 – 7 p.m.
The project promises to be one of the first affordable artist live-work spaces on Chicago’s south side. Developers said they plant for the lofts to be complete by the summer of 2013. The purpose of the charette is to bring potential users of the space into its planning and development discussions from the ground floor up.
If you plan to attend, RSVP at bronzeville_artist_lofts@mbmdconsultants.com by Tuesday, February 21 with your full name and number of guests. Additional questions can be directed to Julia Perkins at MBMD Strategic Consultants, 773-288-2988.
