Great Lakes environmentalists welcomed the White House’s recent acceleration of a plan to permanently protect the Great Lakes.
But many are less than impressed because it doesn’t come with a commitment to physically separate the Great Lakes and Mississippi River watersheds at the Chicago Waterways System.
If they want that to happen, they’ll need heavyweight Illinois elected officials to make that case to Washington.
