Local Independent News Publishers Meeting at Columbia

Chicago Talks, October 4, 2013

The LION summit, a meeting of publishers of local independent news sites from around the US is meeting Friday and Saturday at Columbia College Chicago.

The LION Summit builds on the Block by Block conferences, bringing together the independent online news industry’s leaders and innovators from across the country for training, networking and conversations about the future of news. Speakers will include successful online publishers and journalism professors. Plenty of time for networking and discussion will be built in to this fall’s conference. (LION summit site)

ChicagoTalks reporters are covering some of the sessions, and you can view their Twitter coverage, along with conference attendees tweets. We’ll be rounding up the best of the coverage later, and publishing a variety of stories about the conference sessions, discussions, and the local publishers. Look for it at ChicagoTalks.
