From the Lillstreet newsletter:
The colorful world of Chicago cartoonist and writer Nicole Hollander comes to life at Lillstreet. The gallery will be transformed by her collected and personal artworks and distinctive home furnishings, creating a replica of Hollander’s living space.
The idea for the show came about when a friend told the artist, “I want to sit in your living room all by myself and just look at your things.”
Hollander thought, “Well, maybe somebody else would, too.”
Blending literature, performance and visual art, this exhibition will transport visitors into the atmosphere that stimulates the artists’ imaginative, feminine-focused and politically provocative work. On view Oct. 20 – Nov. 17. Works are for sale.
