Listen as Harold Washington’s neighborhood speaks on a historic election

Chicagoans cast their votes Tuesday in a historic election that resulted in attorney Lori Lightfoot becoming the city’s first black woman mayor.  Chicago has not had an African American mayor since Harold Washington assumed office in 1983.

Student reporters at Columbia College Chicago traced the election back to Harold Washington’s roots in Bronzeville:
