Volunteers are needed on Thursdays from 3:45-5:00 p.m. at Perspectives Charter School, 8131 S. May St., Chicago. These mentoring sessions include a coordinator from the Big Brothers Big Sisters program, so you can learn how to mentor better if you are interested, but don’t know where or how to start. There are opportunities to work as the more traditional Big Brother Big Sister as well. This kind of volunteering is a good way to get experience and build your resume in a very positive way. Contact the Elev8 Program Director, Tenisha Jones at tjones@perspectivescs.org or (773) 358-6300. Elev8 is a local program designed to improve schools, sponsored by LISC/Chicago.
