Think Like a Man Too Takes Biggest Box Office Despite Mixed Reviews

Even though it’s received mixed reviews, Think Like a Man Too was a major hit at the theater this weekend.

A sequel to the 2012 Think Like a Man, the comedy took the top slot at the box office earning $30 million and beating out 22 Jump Street and How to Train Your Dragon 2.

The original Think Like a Man based on Steve Harvey’s advice book “Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man” had a variety of characters like a player, a momma’s boy, a single mother and a workaholic all trying to find love. With a star-studded cast led by comedic Kevin Hart, Taraji P. Henson, Gabrielle Union and Michael Ealy, the first film ended up being a box office success, just like the sequel is on its way to being.

Though Think Like a Man Too’ focuses more on comedy rather than the narrative compared to the film, and thus isn’t as good overall.

The whole cast from the first returns for the sequel this time heading to Las Vegas for Michael (Terrence Jenkins) and Candace’s (Regina Hall) wedding. Before the big day, the boys and girls split up for their respective bachelor and bachelorette parties, which is when things start to go awry for the group. As they attempt to get away from Michael’s mother, played by Jenifer Lewis, and make sure the bride and groom have a good time, the parties wind up having some quality time in jail and racing to make it down the aisle on time.

Though the movie has some corny moments, it also has some dramatic and of course hilarious ones that make the film worth seeing.

Jerry Ferrera, Gary Owen, Meagan Good and Wendi McLendon-Covey are also a part of the comedic cast.

Between the box office success, the fan base and Hollywood’s lacking ability to know when to quit, there’s likely to be a third “Think Like a Man” movie.
