Chicago marchers– including community organizations and unions– came out in full force downtown March 20 to revive the Occupy Chicago movement in time for spring.
This video was shot on location at Daley and Federal Plazas, the Thompson Building and Michigan Avenues. According to estimates, the crowd numbered in the thousands, and was a diverse group from across the city, including children. Protesters said they marched to take back jobs, homes and schools in the grim economic climate.
Artist and activist Chris Drew was present, silkscreening art patches in front of the Art Institute of Chicago for marchers and the public. Drew spearheads the Free Speech Artists Movement, which protested March 20 to advocate for artists’ rights and freedom of speech.
