A street fest inside shipping containers?
Chicago’s first annual BUILT Festival Presented by FUZE kicks off in Wicker Park this weekend.
BUILT Festival is a major new art initiative– a city being created out of shipping containers, which will be given over to Chicago’s contemporary artists and curators to transform into alternative or ‘guerrilla’ venues.
Over one hundred independent artists will exhibit work and stage performances inside and out of the shipping container venues.
The fest will feature 15 local bands throughout the two-day event, including Saturday’s headline act, ‘White Mystery’.
Date:
Friday August 12th, 5:00pm-10:30pm
Saturday August 13th, 11:00am-10:30pm
Location: 1767 North Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago IL 60647
Sponsors include FUZE, Columbia College, Aldi, Pabst Blue Ribbon, Intelligentsia Coffee, FIJI Water, Chicago Artists’ Coalition, MINI of Chicago, Eventbrite, and Blick Art Materials, among others.
There is a charge for admission. Please visit www.builtforart.com for more information.
