World famous for his intrepid explorer’s style of photographing the world’s most exotic places, Reza Deghati has covered most of the globe for National Geographic magazine. He will speak at Northeastern Illinois University on Thurs. Mar. 10, 2011 at 8:00pm in the NEIU Auditorium at 3701 W. Bryn Mawr. Free admission and free parking available.
Winner of the Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite, France’s highest civilian honor, for his philanthropic work in children’s education and the empowerment of women in the media, and Spain’s Prince of Asturias Humanitarian Medal (2006) and the Honor Medal from the University of Missouri–Columbia School of Journalism “in recognition of his lifelong contributions, through brilliant photojournalism, to justice, and dignity for the world’s citizens.” Reza spends much of his time as a lecturer and visiting professor, giving presentations on global issues, his humanitarian work, and photojournalism.
