Women’s Bike Month is to raise the profile of women who bike and encourage more women to consider biking both for recreational and practical purposes. So whether you’re an experienced biker or just getting back on a bike for the first time in years, we want to say “Yes!”
See below for some of the ways you can participate:
1. Share your story!
Tell the world why you bike on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or Tumblr using the hashtag #WOMENWHOBIKE. Let other women know why you love biking. Divvy will be sharing stories of awesome women riders throughout the month.
2. Share a ride!
Got a friend who is interested in biking but needs a little help getting started? Plan a ride together and lead the way. That’s a great way to get someone started riding.
Speaking of sharing, every ThirsTEA Thursday in June, Argo Tea is offering Buy One Get One Free iced tea drinks for Divvy members that flash their key at any Argo Tea location. Enjoy a bike ride and then get your Tea for Two.
3. Get geared up!
Make sure you’re ready to ride safely, and in a way that suits your lifestyle. A few key accessories can go a long way! During June, stop into BFF Bikes, the midwest’s first and only female-oriented bike shop, for a chance to win a Po Campo bag. Also swing by Federal Plaza on June 17 between 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m to shop local bike gear and get your #DIVVYSTYLE on.
4. Celebrate!
Women riders come in all shapes, sizes, and speeds! Do something special and recognize the vibrant, diverse community of women riders. We’ll be surprising riders by cheering them on and giving away Luna Bars on select days in June.
To celebrate Women’s Bike Month (which also happens to coincide with Iced Tea Month), Argo Tea is offering all new Divvy members who sign up in June a free “Lunch on Us!” which includes a complimentary small beverage and panini.
5. Connect!
Get involved with advocacy organizations, forums, social groups, shops, and other riders. Build a community both online and in real life.
