You may have heard or used that useful Everyblock.com site. The site finds information – data feeds – and pulls them into a searchable form oriented around places. In Chicago, you can pull in information about a block, a neighborhood, a ward, or several neighborhoods. We are going to be experimenting with Everyblock as a way to provide you with information that doesn’t need to be reported in the traditional sense. Everyblock lets you connect to conversations in your neighborhood, too.
You can read a story in Chicagotalks, discuss it on Everyblock. Maybe you can add information to what our reporters found. When you find something interesting on Everyblock, like a trend in crime statistics, then submit that as a story to Chicagotalks. You don’t even have to type it up. You can call it in at 312 436 1820.
