The event will begin with a screening of the resulting 10-minute film, a presentation of new research on the 2013 school closings from the University of Chicago’s Consortium on School Research on how the closings affected students, and a panel discussion moderated by Laura Washingon with education experts and voices chosen through public feedback.

Panelists include: Jesse Ruiz of the Board of Education; Jitu Brown of the Journey for Justice Alliance, Executive Director of Greenhouse Fellowship and former Chicago Public School teacher Asif Wilson; and Elaine Allensworth of the Consortium on Chicago School Research.
